In November and December, human rights activists from Memorial led a joint monitoring mission to the self proclaimed people’s republics of Donetsk (DNR) and Luhansk (LNR) to assess the living conditions for people caught in the crossfire. While the Minsk agreement should have put fightings to a halt, in practice artillery shellings and gunfights between ukrainian military forces and separatist fighters happen every day. Civil infrastructure and residential areas are damaged or completely destroyed, civilians are injured or killed daily.
